School is back in session and what better way to unwind from a hectic week than taking a family bike ride? Our next route On September 15 at 10:15 am will take us from Eberwhite Elementary School over to Virginia Park on the West Side of town.

The best part is that our favorite West Side bike store - Great Lakes Cycling & Fitness - will be there to give a short safety speech and raffle off a special prize!!!

August's Route

For this month's ride on AUGUST 18, we will remind downtown Ann Arbor that "kids are traffic too." :)

We are meeting in front of the Downtown Library at 10:15am and will ride to the Farmer's Market in Kerrytown to enjoy fresh local treats and good fun.

August's Route

Since this ride will make our group very visible, please consider decorating your bikes. If you want to incorporate the Kidical Mass logo (download here) or hang up more of our coloring page posters, even better!

See you there...

Spread the word...

Want to help Kidical Mass and keep your kids busy at the same time? Print our new coloring page and let your kids have at it. Then hang your little Picasso's art on your fridge as a reminder of our next ride. Or better yet - hang it in your neighborhood or favorite family-friendly business.

If you can't access the file, I will also have copies available for our ride in August.

Let's ride!!

Bike Fun at Cobblestone Farmer's Market - Today!!

This week there are some bike-related kid's activities at the new Cobblestone Farmer's Market (@ Buhr Park every Tuesday 4-7pm through November 20th)!
Every week there are free kid's activities and in general this is an extremely family oriented market (relatively enclosed, spacious, on grass with plenty of shade, live music, sprinkler during hot weather, farm animals/historic farm house, playground/pool nearby, produce/food grown with organic farming principles, environmentally focused).  Check the website and/or facebook page for weekly activities.

Bring a picnic dinner or plan on getting dinner from Silvio's or Pilar's. Also, if possible, bring a place setting for your family members as this market is striving to be a Zero Waste Earth Market!

July's Ride

Thanks to everyone who came out for our July ride. The weather was gorgeous and thanks to Dave from Common Cycle, we all learned something new about bike repair.

Stay tuned for information about the route for August and other fun bike-related activities.

July Update!

We confirmed that volunteers from Common Cycle (http://commoncycle.org/) are going to set up their mobile repair stand at West Park during our July ride. They will explain more about the great work they do in our community and show the kids how to do simple repairs to their bikes.

This promises to be a fun and informative ride, so don't miss out!

July's Route

Join us July 21st at 10:15am for a ride from Maryfield Wildwood Park down to the beautifully renovated West Park. Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy at the playground, or ride across the street to Big City Small World bakery for a sweet treat!

As always, we will spend the first 15 minutes at our meeting point socializing, decorating bikes, and hearing from a guest speaker in the biking community. This month's route is all downhill and all neighborhood streets, so it's the perfect ride for little ones who want to bring their own bikes/trikes/balance bikes.

Stay tuned for more details and hope to see you there!
